Fluiconnecto Southeast Africa recently took part in an initiative alongside Standing Voice on 26th August 2024 in Mwanza, Tanzania, aimed at supporting individuals with albinism through a comprehensive Vision and Education Programme.
The initiative, organized by Standing Voice, a leader in advocating for people with albinism in Africa, provides essential eye care services to children with albinism, many of whom suffer from poor vision.
The impactful program provides eye tests, spectacles, and education on how to use assistive devices. The program empowers children to overcome vision-related challenges and engage more fully in everyday life.
For the Fluiconnecto Southeast Africa team, participating in this initiative was an enriching experience. The team on the ground was deeply moved by the life-changing outcomes they witnessed, including the unforgettable moment when a young girl, for the first time in her life, received the gift of improved vision.
The team also learned about the alarming statistics related to the murder and discrimination of people living with albinism across Africa, particularly in Tanzania and Malawi.
Fluiconnecto Southeast Africa is proud to have been a part of this life-changing program and remains committed to supporting communities in need. We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate with organizations such as Standing Voice to create a positive change in the communities where we carry out our operations in Southeast Africa.
